Repeating Shapes and Forms

This is a fun theme because there are endless variations that can be created. In that case where do you start?

I often suggest start with the shape of the container, then the next challenge what do you use. Again the choice is endless and with a little imagination you can even create the material to make the form by halving, cutting sections or shapes and so on.

Once you have designed a shape repeat it throughout your work varying the size, angle, height, placement etc. To finish off the work add a focal point where the repeating shapes link back to this point.

This theme can be scaled up to large installations – maybe not your scene but if you were to work in a group why not try this exercise
