Second Iemoto Class conducted by Gaho Isono.

The afternoon class I chose to do a freestyle using one cross bar. This again challenged my ability to over come ‘basic science’ working against gravity trying to the material to stand. The solution was: – I needed to cut the material straight across the base then split the vertically a short way so the thin branches could be placed over the single cross bar.

The arrangement was fraught with danger because the long Prunus Japonica was just stable but ready to fall with the slightest movement. The Bromeliads were just as precariously balance so offering no assistance. An arrangement certainly not suitable for an exhibition or in a place where there is movement
