Simplified Arrangments

It was a very interesting exercise to do two ‘Simplified Arrangements’ for the one assignment, especially one being Moribana and the other Nagiere. We didn’t have to use the identical material, which may have been challenging. It actually would have been very interesting to see how the height of the container influences an arrangement.

‘Simplified arrangements’ are not about a single flower in a container, but about parring back excess material to highlight the beauty of the material. In the case of my Nageire arrangement it was more about halving a flax leaf then changing the direction thus altering the feeling of the arrangement.

In my Moribana arrangement the three elements stayed in the same position, but several leaves were removed from the Prunus opening up the space between it and the two Heliconia. I fine the open space very calming and cooling while emphasising the beauty of the material
